I recently got the message it is time to slow down, as life seems to be going too fast paced these days.
I am guilty of this, especially lately since I’ve been focused upon rebranding myself and getting the new website launched. I’m in the midst of thinking about setting up my next trip to San Diego. And then trying to prepare my home to sell. And the list goes on and on… Sound familiar?
As a society, we are often looking forward to “what’s next,” which majorly distracts us from being in the moment. It takes away from our ability to be honest with ourselves about what we may need to see in order to progress. Think about it – if we’re in a continuous cyclone of thoughts, how can we be still long enough to let the dust settle to see what is right in front of us? Far too many actually prefer the chaos and fast pace of life to avoid dealing with what’s hard. Unfortunately, when this happens we exist on autopilot or try to multi-task and often don’t pay attention to details.
Has it ever happened to you where you need to reset a password when logging into a website, and though you just did it, you can’t remember what it was? Or maybe you were writing an email and were listening to a voice message at the same time only to realize you didn’t hear a thing? It’s unfortunate when we get so caught up that it actually blocks us from progressing.
Recently my spirit guide (Maggie) showed me an image of me standing on a conveyor belt slowly progressing toward my future though slowly pulling away from my present situation. Maggie specifically said I needed to go at this slow pace to see all the things I need to see in order to truly let go so that by the time I would accept where things are, I would be arriving at my destination.
This made perfect sense – ALLOW time to provide clarity! Don’t control it. Don’t force it. Don’t try to make anything happen. Just BE with it. Ha! One of the hardest parts of being human…FEEL in order to DEAL. This is where the magick happens and change can actually take place.
Your spiritual homework for the week:
- Notice what you’re rushing toward, and ask yourself: “Why am I rushing?”
- Inquire deeper within yourself to look at why it’s so uncomfortable to slow down.
- Is it your fear of missing out?
- Is it fear of not being (productive) enough?
- Do you feel it’ll make you feel like you’re ‘winning’ by doing so much all the time?
